Abstract Painted Chocolate Collar Cake
I’ve been making smooth chocolate collar wrapped cakes since I started my business over 20 years ago. Hand-painting with coloured cocoa butters onto chocolate is one of my favourite techniques and I love the impressive glossy finish you can achieve with food-grade acetate – it looks and feels like glass and never fails to get a ‘wow’.
This two tiered lemon cake was to celebrate a 60th Birthday celebration at Hotel Tresanton in St Mawes. Topped with an array of deliciousness, including chocolate flowers, Swiss meringue buttercream swirls and pretty macarons in both Raspberry and Seasalt Caramel. Finished with fresh edible flowers, raspberries and 23ct gold leaf.
Plus a box of the customary extra macarons in each flavour for the guests!
Ok, I know this one is a celebration cake but it works so equally well as a wedding cake too that I’ve put it into this section. There are no hard and fast rules – I’d say most of the cakes are suitable for any occasion so please peruse them all and I hope you see something that will be perfect for you.
